Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Professor & Dean of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), and Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur, Professor & Chairman of the same department at BUBT, have been providing advisory services to Powermann Bangladesh Limited, a leading manufacturer of distribution transformers and substation equipment established in 2001. Collaborating on an applied research project, the two professors have been addressing a critical technical issue in power system design—optimizing substation earthing systems by reducing the number of required earthing points from four to three, without compromising safety or reliability. This innovation aims to lower infrastructure costs while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and safety. Through this partnership, BUBT demonstrates its active role in bridging academic expertise with industrial practice, advancing energy efficiency, and promoting clean energy solutions in Bangladesh’s power distribution sector.
