Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) hosted a distinguished lecture as part of its ongoing Vice-Chancellor Lecture Series at the BUBT International Conference Hall. The lecture, titled “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Higher Education in Bangladesh,” was organized by the BUBT Research and Innovation Center (BRIC).The keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Mohammad Nurunnabi, a globally recognized expert in education for sustainable development. He currently serves as the UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development, Green Skills and Climate Actions, and Chair in Accounting and Director of the Center for Sustainability and Climate at Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia. In his talk, Professor Nurunnabi emphasized the urgent need for integrating SDGs into the higher education system of Bangladesh, particularly through curriculum development, institutional reform, and climate-conscious academic practices.Professor Dr. Syed Masud Husain, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at BUBT, attended the event as the Special Guest. He highlighted the university’s commitment to aligning academic goals with global sustainability targets.The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Professor of Finance at BUBT. In his closing remarks, he appreciated the relevance of the topic and emphasized institutional responsibility in achieving the SDGs through research, innovation, and education. The event attracted faculty members, students, and researchers, all engaged in meaningful dialogue about the role of academia in advancing sustainable development in Bangladesh.
